Coral8 Enables Enterprise-Wide Complex Event Processing with Coral8 Engine Release 5.0

New Release Supports Scalable CEP Application Frameworks to Accelerate Event-Driven Business Applications

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, June 19, 2007 -- Coral8, Inc., a leading provider of Complex Event Processing (CEP) software, today announced the Coral8 Engine Release 5.0, which supports large-scale application frameworks for enterprise-class event-driven applications. This new release of the Coral8 Engine provides companies with tested, proven performance and low-latency, enhanced security access and control, fine-grained query profiling, and detailed throughput and latency measurement and monitoring. With this flexible, scalable and highly tunable platform, OEMs and enterprise IT teams can now build event-driven applications across the entire enterprise.

"At Aberdeen Group, we've been watching message-based enterprise architectures mature rapidly over the past two years," said Perry Donham, director of Enterprise Integration Research. "Leading-edge organizations are moving quickly to adopt event-driven architectures and CEP as a natural next step in their evolution. Products such as the Coral8 CEP Engine are giving these organizations a significant head start."

Coral8 Engine Release 5.0

The Coral8 Engine Release 5.0 provides the performance, flexibility and tunability to power event-driven business applications that include: ultra-low latency trading systems in capital markets, large-scale customer experience management, and highly distributed RFID systems that track assets, products and people. The Coral8 Engine Release 5.0 offers powerful new capabilities to deliver enterprise-class CEP deployments that include:

  • Scalable, proven performance — the Coral8 Engine Release 5.0 provides performance improvements in scalability, throughput and latency as tested in real-world financial trading conditions with Wombat Financial Software.
  • Fine-grained query profiling — an enhanced array of query performance statistics enables the easy tuning of complex query modules across disparate, distributed applications.
  • Throughput and Latency Manager — The Coral8 Studio now offers in-line, graphical throughput and latency information for detailed analysis of query performance in both development/test environments, and for real-time monitoring in live environments.
  • Security and Access Control — IT organizations can now define access control to output streams and query module results for better security and control of the application environment.

“Enterprise-scale, event-driven applications require CEP functionality to move beyond a processing engine and into a distributed framework that can be scaled, tuned and managed effectively,” said Terry Cunningham, CEO of Coral8. “This latest release of the Coral8 Engine provides enterprises with the frameworks they need to enable the rapid deployment of CEP and provides IT with the ability to serve business units with the information they need when they need it.”

Enabling Next-Generation CEP Application Frameworks

Coral8’s fundamental business approach is to enable solution partners to encapsulate their domain and industry expertise in event-driven application solutions that are easy to implement. The new features in the Coral8 Engine Release 5.0 further extend Coral8’s leadership role in providing a best of breed platform for CEP application solutions.

Wombat Financial Software, a leader in low latency trading technology, has developed an algorithmic trading solution framework based on the Coral8 Engine. Wombat chose the Coral8 Engine for its high throughput, low-latency, and powerful, extensible Continuous Computation Language (CCL), which speeds development and deployment of high-speed trading applications.

The Coral8 Engine is directly integrated into the Wombat high-speed market data fabric to provide the performance, intelligence and control that financial trading customers’ desire in a CEP application framework. The result is an intelligent, extensible CEP “service” for market data with extremely low “end-to-end” latency, rapid creation and consistent use of algorithms, and easy distribution of enriched data to trading applications.

Availability

The Coral8 Engine Release 5.0 will be available at the end of June, 2007. The fully functional Coral8 Engine can be downloaded for development and evaluation at www.coral8.com/developers/download.html
