Coral8 Releases New Version of Flagship CEP Engine with Customer-Driven Enhancements

New Features Address Enterprise Demand for Sophisticated CEP Applications

MOUNTAIN VIEW, California, March 10, 2008 -- Coral8, Inc., a leading provider of Complex Event Processing (CEP) software, today announced the general availability of Coral8 Engine Release 5.2. This release, building on input from Coral8’s customers, now offers developers and OEMs new external query capabilities and enhancements in Coral8’s industry-leading event pattern matching and security features. This release also features Coral8’s Portal enhancements to user and dashboard management, reinforcing the company’s commitment to expanding the reach of real-time information to business users.

The rapid and incremental rollout of Coral8’s product innovations is a direct result of the company’s “customer-first” policy. Coral8 values customer input and uses it to help shape the direction of its product roadmap, from facilitating business users to analyze and act on real time information to ensuring its CEP development platform meets the needs of the developer community. Coral8’s CEP Developer Council, which was inaugurated in September 2007, is an important framework by which Coral8 receives feedback from its user base.

“Coral8’s CEP technology is a powerful differentiator in RTI’s real-time middleware offering for high-performance distributed applications,” says David Barnett, VP of Marketing at RTI, a Coral8 customer and OEM partner. “Our joint technological leadership has led to the recent award of a U.S. Air Force contract that provides advanced security protection for distributed systems. We look forward to incorporating the new features of Engine Release 5.2 into our product line.”

Highlights of Coral8 Engine Release 5.2 include:

  • Query-enabled Windows – allowing any application to query Coral8 data using industry standard SQL language;
  • Event Pattern Matching Enhancements –
    • new automated causality reporting enables applications to capture event “audit trails,” such as forensic trails in fraud detection, complete sets of illicit trader activity, intricate customer behavior patterns, and detailed transaction routings and actions for cost analysis;
